Blocking and unblocking to prevent unauthorized domain transfers

Domain blocking. Shared domains allow you to block a domain to prevent unauthorized transfer. It is not possible to transfer the domain if the owner does not remove this lock.

Unblock the domain. By default, transfer lock is active on all shared domains, which effectively blocks the domain. If you plan to transfer the domain to another service, you will first need to unblock the domain to make the transfer possible.

Frequently Asked questions about the domain

What is a domain name?
  • A domain (or domain name) is the unique name of a website, the address at which the resource pages are available on the Internet.

For example, "domain.com " is a domain name. You can enter it in the browser's address bar, and it will automatically navigate to the desired site.

Domains are used by all Internet resources. Without a domain, users will not be able to find out about the existence of the site and go to its pages.

The domain is not directly connected to the site's server, where all the resource data is located, nor to its IP address, which is a unique identifier for exchanging requests. But the Internet DNS service links the domain name and the IP of the site, so the site can be accessed by domain.

What can I do with the domain name?
  • Register a trademark. This will help protect copyrights from scammers who may create a similar domain and try to profit from the brand.

Find a web hosting service. You need to contact a hosting company and host your website on its server.

Create a website. It is best if the web resource fully matches the domain name in meaning.

Install the SSL certificate. Encrypting the connection to the server will protect user data from theft.

Register communities in social networks. To strengthen your brand, you need to make yourself known everywhere.

Select a unique email address. If the domain name of the company or blog is present in the email address, it will add to its presentability and solidity.

Set up redirection to the main site. If you already have a website and domains are registered in alternative spellings and other domain zones, it is enough to set up redirects to the main site on these new domains.

Transfer the domain name. If the company has been sold, the site is no longer needed, or its owner has quit, the domain name can be sold or re-registered to another owner.

How many domains can I host?
  • On a hosting service, the number of domains that can be placed on one account is set depending on the tariff plan.

There are no restrictions on the number of hosted domains on VPS and dedicated servers. There are restrictions only on disk space and server resources (processor, memory, etc.).

Which domain should I buy?
  • When choosing a domain zone, it is best to consider the location of the business.

The .com zone is suitable for entering the international level.

For some projects, you can choose more original thematic options.
